Firecapture gives a live ID of which moons you are seeing when you click on the ephemerides button near the capture screen.
Would that be also possible in SharpCap?
Thanks.

Re: ID moons
Hi,
one of the astronomy calculation libraries that I already use seems to have code to calculate the positions of the 4 Gallilean moons, so some information could be calculated and presented. Not sure if I can think of how that might fit into SharpCap though - I wouldn't want to add a new item in the Tools menu for something this small (and only applicable to one target).
cheers,
Robin

Re: ID moons
Hello,
And the moons of Saturn, Uranus and Neptune ?
It should be possible to have the position of these moons too.
Regards,
Jean-Francois

Re: ID moons
Hi,
I'm sure there are software libraries out there with the calculations in them, but I don't have one that does Saturn/Neptune/Uranus (or mars for that matter) already in SharpCap. I would have to find one, and make sure that it is not GPL licensed, as using that would be breaking the rules...
cheers,
Robin
