Re: Setup Failed
Hi,
the latest versions no longer require a .NET framework install, but on Windows 7 and 8 they may require an install of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable.
If you have an internet connection available when you install and this component is required then SharpCap should download and install it for you. If you have no internet connection, or encounter the problem shown above then download and install manually before installing SharpCap.
For 64-bit version of SharpCap : https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
For 32-bit version of SharpCap : https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
Hopefully this should get things working,
Robin

Re: Setup Failed
Robin good evening
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I downloaded VC_redist.x64.exe and then once again Sharpcap 4.1.11388.0
I then installed VC_redist and tried to install Sharpcap and it failed.
I then rebooted, uninstalled VC_redist and rebooted again, then reinstalled VC_redist and then tried SharpCap again.
Install failed, same error as above.
Thanks also in advance for your help.
Cheers
Keith

Re: Setup Failed
Hi Keith,
that's a shame I will have to test this in a Win7.1 machine and see if I can make the same thing happen myself.
Have you been able to try with a connection to the internet available for the download to happen?
cheers,
Robin

Re: Setup Failed
Hi,
try installing both the 64 and 32 bit Microsoft packages and then installing SharpCap - it looks like what I *thought* would make sure it only require the correct one of the two is not working, so it wants both the 64 and 32 bit redistributables to be installed.
I will try to fix the installer another way to avoid this issue.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Setup Failed
Part II
Robin morning
Just downloaded the 32 bit version.
I then installed the 32 bit, then reinstalled the 64 bit, then installed/tried Sharpcap 4.1 and same error.
Copy of the log file attached - thanks again for your time and effort.
Cheers
