QHY 268M Temp Control Bug

#1

Post by lukenash707 »

Having some issues with temp control with 268M. Works great if 0C or below, if setpoint is above 0C, the control doesn't seem to try to achieve the goal, right now, it's set at 1C and the control applies 60-70% of the max power and levels out at 6-7C. This makes darks tricky as the temperature is not consistent.

Ay tips would be appreciated

Hi,

this is a tricky one, since SharpCap just sends the target temperature to the QHY software, and the camera and the QHY driver/SDK are supposed to handle everything from that point on. I don't have a 268M here, but I tested with a 294C and it seems to work fine when set to 3C (about 29% power gives the desired temperature). That's making me think this is an issue specific to the 268 rather than a genertal issue.

Do make sure you have the latest version of SharpCap (either the latest 4.0 or the latest 4.1 - they both have up-to-date QHY SDK components). Also check you have the latest QHY driver (might be worth trying their beta all-in-one).

Beyond that you are limited to setting a temperature that works - ie -1, controlling the cooling manually (yuck) or raising this issue with QHY I guess.

cheers,

Robin
