Long exposure possible issue

Using "LX" mode with my svbony 105 camera only takes 2 second long exposures despite I've changed the exposure setting to 8 seconds, is this a bug or a fault at my end?

Hi and welcome

The Svbony 105 is made for planetary and moon captures. Therefor it has no long exposures build in. So the 2 seconds exposure you see, is the maximum exposure for this camera.

Hi,

it might be that the camera advertises a maximum exposure length of 8s, but actually cannot run exposures that long. This would mean that SharpCap would send it a request for 8s exposures and the camera would ignore it (well, go for the real maximum of 2s).

As Menno points out, both the SV105 and 205 are really limited to high speed imaging of moon/sun/planets. You need at least the SV305 to do longer exposures in a meaningful way.

From what I can find, the sv305 has exposure times up to 1800sec (30 minutes). So, yes
