multiple hypercam 269 camera

Good morning.
I already have a 269 hypercam on my telescope newton.
I intend to buy a second one to put on my 76EDPH.
So I would have 2 hypercam 269 with Sharpcap.
Does it pose a problem for the choice of camera with Sharpcap to have 2 same camera?

Hi Micky,


actually, it is a bit of an issue, since they will both appear with the same name in the menu, and hard to tell which is which.

On some brands of camera, the serial number can be read quickly, so for those brands SharpCap can show the serial number after the device name if there are two devices with the same name. Unfortunately for Altair, reading the serial number requires opening a connection to the camera, which takes a second or so and may cause issues if the camera is being used by another application, so SharpCap doesn't try to read the serial numbers when detecting Altair cameras.
