Telescope Movement Buttons

#1

Post by raurgo »

Hi.
What is needed to be able to move the telescope with the Sharcap buttons?
The communication between the telescope and sharcap is correct, it reads the celestial coordinates, the tracking too, but it doesn't move when I click on the buttons. What do I have to change or review to make it work?
I put the log file in case it helps to identify the problem.
(I have not aligned the telescope, it is only oriented to the polar)
Thank you very much for the help.

Hi,

from the log it looks as though your ASCOM driver for the telescope mount supports the movement buttons and has a range of different movement speeds available.

I wonder if it is possible that you have left the movement speed at the default of '1x' (which is the sidereal tracking rate, so 1 rotation every 24 hours). Try changing to a faster movement rate - something like 2 degrees per second - and see if that does the trick. See https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#GOTO%20Mount%20Control for more info.

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin.

Yes. I have changed the speed and it works correctly.
Thank you so much,
