#1

Post by mixon »

I am a newbee at this stuff. Just purchased SharpCap Pro 4.0, I need help please.
in the drop down folder Camera, there is an option for Folder Monitor Camera. When I click on that option, it should default to a folder, however a picture pops up, dark sky with stars! LOL! how do set this to default to that particular folder, Folder Monitor Camera?

Thanks a lot !

Hi Roy and welcome to the forum

An image opening with dark sky and stars sounds right. In the screenshot below it shows what I get when using that camera. It shows the captures you made without any processing.
When opening the Folder Monitor Camera, it will open the folder you last used for it. So it has a default folder by default, so to speak :)
You can change it by clicking the browse button I circled in green. The camera will return to that folder again the next time you use it.

Hello Menno,
Thank you for explanation. However, What I failed to mention, I was merely testing the camera out in my study, Indoors. I believe the image that popped up was in the sample folder. At any rate, I understand now what you have explained, and makes sense now. Like I said, I'm a beginner and want to progress over time. My wife bought me the Celestron NexStar 130 SLT for Christmas 8 years ago! The first two weeks I got so frustrated trying to figure out how to use it. Go-to telescope of course. So, I packed it up and and never touched it until about a month ago!
Now That I have gave more attention to it, I have learned more about the scope. Purchased the camera ZWO ASI120mc-s. Purchased SharpCap 4.0.
it's all a huge learner curve for sure.
Thanks again for your assistance!
Take care
Roy
