Hi,
I would like to start doing some EAA. I already own a Sony a7iii
will Sharpcap work with this camera? If so, can someone show me where to find instructions please?
Thanks

Re: Sony a7iii
Hi,
SharpCap does not have direct support for DSLR or mirrorless cameras, but someone has made an ASCOM driver that may work. In fact there are several that *may* work - see for instance
https://github.com/dougforpres/ASCOMSonyCameraDriver
https://github.com/Axlns/ascom.sony.camera
https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/7076 ... ntax-sony/
Unfortunately I have no experience with using Sony cameras, so can only offer the most general of instructions...
Install the ASCOM platform (https://ascom-standards.org/)
Install the ASCOM camera driver that you want to test
Make sure the camera is connected to the PC - you may need to install drivers (see the web page for the ASCOM camera driver for details)
Try selecting the appropriate entry from the ASCOM cameras section of the SharpCap Camera menu.
For best results, putting SharpCap into still mode rather than live mode before opening the camera may help.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Sony a7iii
Thank You
I will check the links you provided.
I might have to just buy a dedicated camera.
