ASI533MC-Pro and Dropped Frame Counter

#1

Post by MarMax »

SC 4.1.10364.0 (64 bit)
Windows 10 Laptop (OS 10.0.19045)

I've been creating a new dark library for the ASI533MC-Pro and noticed when changing the Gain and Brightness settings that the Frame counter in the lower right would disappear. I was also using Bin2 for this set of darks. I'm not sure which log file is associated with this since it's been a few days but I'm attaching three from the day I think this occurred.

To get the frame counter back I was disconnecting and reconnecting the camera, which worked. The down side is the cooling stops when you do this and the sensor warms up so when you reconnect you need to wait a couple minutes for the temperature to stabilize again. This seemed like a bug to me so I'm reporting it.

Hi,

not sure if this is a real problem or not. The progress bar in the bottom right that shows how far through a frame you are only shows up when the exposure is 1s or longer, and I'm wondering if this is what you have been observing. The progress is there to just give you an idea of how things are going when you are using long exposures, but there is no need for it when the exposure is short (as the image will be changing or at the very least the frame count bottom left will be going up).

I had a quick look through the logs, but there was nothing bad showing up in them.

cheers,

Robin
