Hi,

the latest Altair SDK I have is from mid December, and that is in SharpCap 4.0.9499 and newer versions. If you have a version of SharpCap from before that (for instance 4.0.9478, which is the latest available via auto-update) then please update to the latest version from the download page and give that a try. If that doesn't work then I will have to pester Altair for an even newer update :D

The ASCOM driver is separate, but may also be out of date - if we find that the updated SDK in SharpCap fixes the issue then we know what Altair needs to do for the ASCOM driver too.

cheers,

Robin

Altairs ascom driver doesnt work either the 2023 one from their download page. Altair capture software shows the camera but I exclusively use Sharpcap 4. I have raised a ticket with them also. Really annoying as I,ove using sharpcap brain etc. I will try maybe using the new Sharpcap beta version?
Thanks Derek

Hi Derek,

what version of SharpCap 4 have you got installed? Don't worry about the ASCOM driver for the moment - see if the camera appears and works in the 'Altair Cameras' section of the SharpCap menu in the very latest SharpCap 4 (4.0.9538 - see https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads)

cheers,

Robin

Robin, as a post script, do I run the sensor analysis in RAW16 ultra low noise or as I think just the standard RAW16? Ive actually ran the analysis twice doing both is that correct?

Hi,

yes, running it twice is the right thing to do - it means SharpCap has data for both modes in case it is needed.

Good to hear that the update fixed it. I expect they just need the updated SDK into the ASCOM drivre.

cheers,

Robin
