Creating Master Darks from Individual dark frames

#1

Post by Garysiegel »

I'm a new owner of an ASIAIR. I captured light frames on an object and then created Flat and Dark frames with the ASIAIR app. I used Sharpcap to process my image. BTW it did a wonderful job. My questions, ASIAIR created individual dark frame files (the same with the Flat frames). Is there a way in SharpCap Pro to take the dark and flat images to create one Master Dark frame and one Master Flat frame? I could only input 1 image of each when I processed my light frames data. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

yes, it involves a bit of fiddling around, but you can do this using the 'Folder Monitor' virtual camera. This acts like a camera in SharpCap but gets the images from a series of image files in a folder, rather than from a real camera. In this way you can apply any normal SharpCap action (like making a master dark or flat, or live stacking) to a series of files. See https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Virtual%20Cameras

cheers,

Robin
