#1

Post by TinyDragon179 »

Hello, everyone!

I have seen recently a lot of questions regarding SharpCap not recognizing your SVBONY cameras.
It is my pleasure to help you.
Here is how you fix that problem.
I am not affiliated with SharpCap or SVBONY but I am a computer programmer and can help.

SOLUTION TO: GETTING YOUR SHARP CAP TO RECOGNIZE YOUR SVBONY CAMERA (ANY OF THEM)

I am using WINDOWS when I show you this.

1. You will need to go into your control panel and load the Windows 3.5 .net software
a. Go to the “Search” or magnifying glass at the bottom of your computer screen
b. Type in “control panel”
c. Click on “large icons”
d. Click on Programs and Features
e. To the left you will see “Turn Windows features on and off”
f. Click on “Turn windows features on and off”
g. You will see a little window of applications show up.
h. The .NET framework 3.5 should show up at the top, if the box next to it is clear, it is not loaded. YOU NEED TO LOAD THIS.
i. Click the box to the left of the .NET Framework 3.5 (it should show up blue after you click it)
j. Then hit OK in the bottom right corner of the box.
k. Windows will load this application
2. SVBONY runs on ASCOM drivers.
a. Go to ASCROM ASCOM - Standards for Astronomy
b. Download the 6.6SPI platform. (This contains ALL of the drivers you will need)

3. NEXT : GO TO SoftWare-Driver (svbony.com)
a. CLICK ON WINDOWS or whatever OS you have (on the left)
b. Download the SVBONY “CAMERA DRIVERS”
c. If you need other drivers scroll down the list and load them all from the same page.

4. FINALLY
a. Restart your computer after all the downloads have taken place
b. Click on SHARPCAP
c. Plug your SVBONY Camera in
d. Click the “camera” icon
e. You will see SVBONY CAMERA (your type) under its own header
f. You will see SVBONY CAMERA under the direct view icon with your laptop camera

g. And you will see it under the ASCROM section as well.
h. Click on your camera and it will turn the screen black instead of gray.
i. You can move your camera around and should see that the screen is reflecting different shades or colors based on what you are aiming your camera at.
j. YOU ARE CONNECTED.
k. Drop your camera into your telescope and go have fun!

I Sincerely hope this helps anyone that is struggling to get their sharpcap to recognize their camera.
Very sincerely,
