Hi,
After an imaging session yesterday, I noticed that Sharpcap had created many different folders and sub-folders to save the fits files in. The saved fits files were buried in two layers of folders: many folders numbered with sharpcap numbering protocol, and raw image folder within each of those. Why is it creating all these folders and sub-folders? This is new- usually sharpcap just saves the fits files directly to the image folder, which is a lot more straight forward and easier to access. I didn't change any settings on how it should save files so I am not sure why it is doing that. It's time consuming to have to go into each separate raw file folder to copy all of the images when I use deep sky stacker! Any idea why this is occurring? Could I have changed a file save setting accidentally? And how should I fix it?
Here is a google drive screen shot so you can see what is happening.

Re: New file saving format?
Hi,
looks like you were live stacking - each folder with a timestamp is a stack that was started and within it you will find any images that you saved from the stack and also the 'rawframes' folder containing the unprocessed frames from the camera that went into the stack. If you press the 'Clear' button in live stacking or change certain camera settings that make the new images incompatible with the old then a new stack will begin.
This is perfectly normal for live stacking - keeping the different stack sessions separate is necessary to avoid confusion at a later date about what files were associated with which stack.
I guess that you were previously capturing without live stacking, which would typically end up with a simpler folder structure.
cheers,
Robin
