Sensor Analysis and Pegasus Flat-Master Question

I have a new scope (Altair Astro 80mm EDT-X) and need to complete a new sensor analysis. I plan to utilize my Pegasus Flatmaster to assist in this process.

My question is- The Pegasus Flatmaster has 5 different light settings. Is there a recommended setting to use when completing a sensor analysis? I have always used the lowest/dimmest setting. Is this correct? What is best practice?

Thank you

Kind regards,

Brian

Hi Brian,

sensor analysis data is related to the camera only, not the telescope, so if you have already done an analysis on the camera in question then there is absolutely no need to do it again with a new scope.

When doing the analysis, the best way is usually to have the brightest light level where the analysis will start (if it is too bright it will not start and ask you to dim the light level). This ensures the analysis is run as quickly as possible.

cheers,

Robin
