Capture flats not working correctly

#1

Post by Splunge »

I am trying to create a flat with the latest version of Sharpcap on Windows 11. Using a ZWO ASI183MC camera at 75 gain and 450ms. Also using a PegasusAstro Flatmaster for light source. When I start Sharpcap with these settings and the light on, it looks like this:
Start1.png
Start1.png (240.41 KiB) Viewed 477 times
When I open the 'Capture Flat' tool it then switches to this:
Flat1.png
Flat1.png (97.34 KiB) Viewed 477 times
Strange that it changes the histogram - never did that before. After capturing the flat with shown settings, I get this:
Apply1.png
Apply1.png (71.91 KiB) Viewed 477 times
Any idea what's going on?

Arghh! I had 'Gradient Removal' turned on in 'Background Subtraction'. Turning that off cured the problem.. sorry for the noise.

Hi,

oops, yeah, that's not a good combination - I will make the code turn off background subtraction for dark/flat capture in a future update!

cheers,

Robin
