Getting too much green in the image - how to fix?

Hello All,
I had clear skies tonight so had the opportunity to play outside with SharpCap
I was concentrating on M51 and I noticed a couple of things.
1) I started having trouble with too much green shading in the image
I can adjust blue, and red - but I can't get rid of the green.
2) So far - I can get a better image of M51 by forgetting about stacking - and simply playing with Exposure and gain settings such that the Exposure is up to around 40 seconds. I adjust the gain so that it brightens the object without brightening the space around it.
Once I get it the way I think is best possible image - I take a screen shot of that image as a picture.
Setting the Exposure to around 10 seconds and the gain to around 350 - and stacking multiple images did not produce an acceptable image.
In this case the details of M51 were all but lost and only the two inner cores were visible.
