That indeed makes sense. I know that the plate solver I use (All Sky Plate Solver) also doesn't like FITS much but JPG or PNG are no problem and solved easily.

Hi Menno,

I have put up a new version that ensures that the image is saved to PNG before sending it to the plate solving engine - that avoids any FITS issues and also kills off the FITS headers to make sure that Astap does a proper plate solve rather than just reporting the values in the headers.
