Hi Robin,
after version v4.0.8833, 64bit I notice an increased number of dropped frames.
This with the same setup with the same settings.
What can be the reason for this?

Re: Dropped Frames
Hi,
can you have a look at the log in v4.0.8894 and see what sort of dropped frames are being logged - you might see one or more of the following types logged
Actually, if you could share the whole log from 4.0.8894, that might be easiest
cheers,
Robin

Knowing which sort would help narrow down any possible cause. Note that the most common cause is communication issues with the camera.LiveStackReject,
ZWOCaptureThread,
ZWOTimeout,
ZWOFromSDK,
SXNoFrameData,
DS3TransformFrame,
AltairTimeout,
BaslerGrabFailed,
WritingFinished,
FilterCaptureReject,
PreviousFrameNotProcessed,
OutOfBuffers,
DroppedBeforeTransform,
DirectShow,
NoLongerCapturing,
CapturePaused,
ZWOCannotStartExposure,
FrameCancelled
Actually, if you could share the whole log from 4.0.8894, that might be easiest
cheers,
Robin
Re: Dropped Frames
Hi Robin,
I installed the latest version again today. And lo and behold, it now works fine . Sometimes it is like jinxed.
I can not explain this, especially since I have not changed anything.
Thanks for your usual quick response.
Didi

Re: Dropped Frames
Hi Robin,
It was a pleasure to meet you at an AS meet recently. Just to pick up on dropped frames, I use the QHY174mGPS with SC 4.0.8604 and i get a few dropped frames with most recordings between 5 and 50 fps (even with ROI). So i would like to expand the logging data. Based on your answer above which types of error should be selected ? Here are the settings which i will select. Would this work? - Thank you

Re: Dropped Frames
Hi Tim,
It was good to chat the other week at the AAS
Those settings will certainly capture all information of interest relating the camera, but I would only turn them on as a second line of investigation. If you are getting dropped frames then have a look at the log without those options turned on to see if there is anything useful relating to dropped frames (that sort of thing usually gets logged without needing the extra logging turned on). It's only if that was inconclusive that I would recommend turning on the extra logging, as it can make for a very large log output, in which case the sheer quantity of data can sometimes make it hard to find the important bits
cheers,
Robin
