Use of histogram during imaging

I have a general question about use of the Sharpcap histogram during imaging. The last time I imaged (M51), the histogram curves were way over to the left of the graph, against the vertical axis, and even when I pressed the histogram curve stretch button, it didn't stretch it out much. The curves were all still crammed way over on the left side of the graph... any idea how I can fix that (stretch it out) next time? Does it have anything to do with the gain, or other settings?

Hi

Sounds to me that the histogram was in Linear mode. In the histogram area in the upper right, there is a checkbox with Logarithmic next to it. When you check that, the histogram should even out.
More info also on https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9/12_TheHistogram.htm
