Hi Robin
Reading about your Polar alignment function, you say
To already be aligned within 5 degrees of the pole
So
If I can Polar align the mount within 5deg of the pole
BUT I can only image stars that are 15 to 20 deg West from the Pole (due to obstructions)
will your tool work OK?
Thanks
Steve

Re: Polar alignment how far form Pole?
Hi Steve,
sorry, no, the tool needs a clear view of the stars around the pole to work. The internal star database that is used goes from about 83N to 90N (and 83S to 90S).
cheers,
Robin

OK
I thought that was the case from some experiments I did a while ago but wanted to check and make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.
Thanks
Take care
