Motor on for Polar Alignment?

This may be a dumm question but I could not see it in the manual. Should the RA motor be switched on or off during the polar alignment procedure?
Hi,
doesn't matter - you are looking at the stars so near the pole, and typically with short exposures of a few seconds or so that there is no star trailing. The calculations will work either way.
