Connection Problem

#1

Post by Frank14 »

I use my guide scope (Orion Short Tube 80, with an Orion SSAG) to run the polar alignment tool in Sharpcap. The connection has always worked well. All of a sudden, Sharpcap can't connect with the SSAG. NINA is also not able to connect to the SSAG. HOWEVER, Phd2 can establish a connection with the SSAG. (I only try to connect one piece of software at a time with the SSAG.) I get the attached message. I have reloaded drivers, and swapped out the cable, all to no avail. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be going on? Thanks! Frank.

Hi Frank,

based on the error message, I'd suggest fully uninstall then reinstall the ASCOM drivers for the SSAG - it looks like the configuration for those has somehow been wiped out, so SharpCap (and ASCOM - hence NINA) cannot find the correct files needed to load the driver.

I expect PHD2 may have direct support for these, so will not need to use the ASCOM driver and therefore will not care that it has become messed up.

cheers,

Robin
