This may not be the correct place to ask but for some reason I cannot download the Astrotortilla files. Is their server down?

astrotortilla
Tried to repeat your success with astrotortilla but the database is not downloadable. Tried on different computers using various servers but was unsuccessful. Their server is available but the data is apparently not there. Any suggestions? Included a screenshot in an earlier post.

Re: plate solving
Hi,
I think that they get the data files from another web site that might have moved. Maybe there is discussion on the Astrotortilla pages on how to fix, otherwise try AnSvr, ASPS or Astap as alternate plate solving engines. Ansvr and ASPS are exactly the same engine as Astritortilla, just with different installers and user interface.
cheers,
Robin

Re: plate solving
OK thanks Robin,
Two more simple questions.
1. There are two choice settings for downloading the Ansvr data, what should I choose for the lower setting?
2. I would like to practice with the SharpCap pictures I took up to now. How do I upload the pictures to the SharpCap application?
Thanks again,
Ernie

Re: plate solving
Hi,
you said that your FOV was 250x140, so I would suggest installing index data from 4207 (top selection) to 4219 (bottom selection).
You can use SharpCap's test camera - 'Test Camera 1 (Deep Sky)' (https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Test%20Cameras) to load up previously saved images, which you can then use for plate solving tests. You can also set up SharpCap to talk to the ASCOM 'Telescope Simulator for .NET' mount, which is a simulated mount driver.
cheers,
Robin
