Control of SKywatcher az-eq5 in alt/az mode

#1

Post by kleanthise88 »

Hello ,

I would like to use sharpcap to control my mount in alt/az mode. I have installed the skywatcher ascom drivers and i was able to slew the mount.
But when i tried to run platesolving and sync with the mount i had no success.

Ideally i would like to use this mount for electronic assisted astronomy so being able to operate it in alt/az mode will greatly speed up the process.
Is there any tutorial available for setting up sharpcap for controlling mounts in alt/az ?

connect to mount, plate solve sync and then i will switch to live stacking.

Looking forward for your feedback on this.

Kind regards,
Kle

Hi,

please could you try again, then after it has failed, go to the SharpCap log (Help Menu -> Show Log), and share the entire log contents here on the forums. It should contain enough details about what has gone wrong to let me advise you on how this might be fixed.

Note that you can also go and find the saved log file from the previous attempt if you do not want to wait for clear skies - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Show%20Log for details on how to find the log files and how to tell which is which.

cheers,

Robin

Are you connecting to ASCOM via synscan pro?

Can you platesolve without sync successfully?
