Trying to install using SharpCapInstall-4.0.8564.0-64bit on a Windows 11 laptop. When I try to run the installer by double clicking in Windows Explorer, not only does the install program not run, but the executable file disappears from the folder. After downloading again, I've tried running as Administrator from Windows Explorer, as well as using run and cmd with the same result. I'm used to seeing programs fail to run, but I've never seen one erased!
Thoughts?
Peter

Re: Can't Install
Hi Peter,
is your Win11 machine in the (horrible) Windows 'S' mode where you can only install things from the Windows Store?
You can find out more about S mode here (including how to tell if it is turned on)

You can see the Microsoft instructions for turning it off here

cheers,

Re: Can't Install
Hi Robin,
I'm running Windows 11 Pro, which doesn't have the S-mode
I was able to install version 4.0.8532.0. I had this same problem with another app yesterday and managed to get it installed by turning off Symantec Endpoint Protection for the install.
Thanks for a fabulous piece of software.

Hi,
glad you got it sorted. I should have thought of antivirus as a possibility... It's a good guess when something doesn't work and there is no logical explanation!
cheers,
Robin
