Hi,

easiest way is to use a digital multimeter - they can be had for about £10 off of Amazon. Disconnect the power cable from the mount, set the multimeter to Volts (V) andstick the red probe into the middle of the little power connector plug and touch the black one to the outside of the round metal bit.

Mind you, if the motor is running it could be a mechanical issue (seizing). Could still be a power issue if the motor is getting enough power to do *something* but not enough to actually get stuff moving.

cheers,

Robin

Hi,

to me that sounds like there is something mechanical not quite right - something is rattling over the top of the RA motor whine perhaps?

There is a thread here on CloudyNights of someone with the same mount who also had problems with the RA axis - in his case something had shifted so the gears were not engaging.

cheers,
