Hi
Had problem with Sharpcap Pro Locking up when my camera became disconnected.
It did give me a msg that camera had been disconnected but would not respond to any keyboard input after msg.
Could not close the Task.
I had to use Task manager to Kill the program.

win 10 pro, 64 bit, v 21H1, os build 19043.1288
Sharpcap V 4.0.8185.0-9/20/2021
Camera ZWO ASI 2400 MC Pro
Connected to Celestron CGX mount through CPWI.
Connected to PHD2.

Had stopped Livestack due to clouds.
then had quick rain shower so pulled power-plug on equipment for quick cover.

Log file attached
Thanks for review of this.
Take care

Hi,

unfortunately the log file you attached just shows SharpCap starting and then being closed again, so it looks like you copied the wrong file :(

The correct log will be a much larger file, and note that the time in the log file name is the time that SharpCap was started, not when it was closed.

What should happen if your camera is lost during live stacking is that SharpCap will try to save the stack automatically to avoid any data loss, then it should show this error:
Capture.JPG
Capture.JPG (18.15 KiB) Viewed 771 times
It will be interesting to see how far through those steps SharpCap got before freezing.

thanks,

Robin

Hi,

thanks for digging out the right log - I can see that from about 19:51 things go downhill very rapidly with lots of entries noting USB devices disconnecting (starting with the CGX mount and moving on to cameras). The ZWO camera stops responding properly at this point, but doesn't disconnect until about a minute later.

Anyway, I see the same problem when pulling out a camera USB cable while live stacking - it detects the camera removal and saves the stack, but never re-enables the menus. I will investigate.

cheers,

Robin
