Hi,

Just got a new mini-PC for my rig. Is there a way to copy the sensor analysis files that the SharpCap brain uses from my old PC to my new one?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

you will find the measurements you have taken in the folder shown in this post : viewtopic.php?p=2918#p2918

If you had a SharpCap Pro license when you did the measurement then the files will be .json and (if you want) you can look at the values with a text editor. If were using the SharpCap free version then the files are .bin and can only be read by SharpCap.

In either case, copy the files to the equivalent folder on your new computer.

cheers,

Robin

I have the pro version and spent some hours running sensor analysis for different modes on my QHY600.

I didn't save the data at the time as I expected to be able to pick it up later and put it in a spreadsheet - Oops!

Have spent further hours trying to work out how to do it, this post is the nearest but it looks like it would take hours to pull the data out of JSON files using a Text editor.

Surely there must be a way to get this data into a spreadsheet?

Hi,

unfortunately you missed the button to do that (the copy button after the analysis succeeds). You can view the graphs again using the smart histogram brain window (the graph is in the sensor data tab), but not the raw data.

However, I do have a tool that I have used in the past to pull CSV data out of the json files, so if you want to send my your JSON sensor measurement files, I will try to run the tool on them and send you the CSV files back.

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin, I'm sure you are very busy so I really appreciate the offer.
Files attached - just the 16 bit ones I already saved the 8 bit data.

Hi,

unfortunately one of the sensor files you uploaded (the photographic DSO one) was measured with the camera in 8 bit mode, so probably not the data you intended. Anyway, here are the CSV conversions of both
QHY600M~MONO16~High Gain Mode 16BIT.csv
(799 Bytes) Downloaded 62 times
QHY600M~MONO8~PhotoGraphic DSO 16BIT.csv
(622 Bytes) Downloaded 66 times
