Sharpcap Pro license question

#1

Post by Moonstruck »

Do I need to purchase a license to use the Sharpcap Pro live stacking function? I tried to use the free version (I successfully opened up live stacking), but with various functions in live stacking got the message that a license was required to use that function. And I got that message with a lot of the basic functions!

It is a small price to pay for all that you get.

There are completely free solutions out there (not Live Stacking, though.) In my experience, all-free products don't give the kind of quality I expect. I am willing to pay for quality.

Sorry that I misinterpreted your questions here on the forum. You were very focused on quality. Now you want free, Can't help you anymore.

Brian - I am willing to pay for sharpcap to get live stacking if necessary - I really like sharpcap! Just wanted to make sure I didn't already get the function for free and I was missing something. I am not that good with figuring out computer software in general, and just wanted to confirm.

Question - when I go to download the paid version, will there be any issues with overwriting the free version I already have, or will it overwrite it with no issues?

To the best of my knowledge, you already have the full version. You just need to purchase a license and then enter the key into About => License. Something like that. I'm on Linux right now, so I probably remembered wrong.

Hi,

basic live stacking is free. Use of advanced features (including using darks/flats, sigma clipped stacking, some of the image enhancements and automatic dithering via PHD2) requires a license.

cheers,

Robin
