Any tips on capturing/adding SII data with OSC?

Being the experimental guy I am, I got an Optolong SII 6.5nm filter to add some extra data to the captures I do with the Zwo ASI OSC and Optolong L-eXtreme filter.
Adding the data in Photoshop will work fine but got some questions for tips for the earlier stages.
Like for example, with a OSC and an SII filter, is that also capturing in 16bit or can that be done in Mono since it's just a small bandwidth I'm gathering data from and use that in the Green channel (or other when doing a different pallet) in Photoshop?
And anything I should pay extra attention to when it comes to exposure time (besides being long), gain and/or offset?
And yes, I know: a mono camera is better for this But for now I'm happy fiddling with my OSC.
