Hi,

I suspect that your best bet would be to contact Atik support directly as you will probably get a faster response that way them with me passing messages backwards and forwards.

Cheers, Robin

Hi,

I am agree, I will contact directly the ATIK support for the crash when the Bin is modified in high speed mode. It will be easier to exchange directly with ATIK support team :)
Do you know if the fact that the gain adjustment as no effect in high speed mode is linked to SharpCap or to the SDK. If it's link to the SDK, I need also to discuss that point with ATIK Support.

Thanks

Eric

Hi Eric,

the gain problem might be the SDK or maybe I misunderstood something in it when I wrote my code. Unfortunatley I only have a CCD Atik camera at the moment, so I am unable to test anything to do with the gain or high speed mode :( I _think_ I got the gain right when I was getting things working with the Horizon2 (it was an important feature, so I tested it lots), but maybe the 7.1 is different somehow.

cheers,

Robin

Hi,

I received some feedback from Atik suggesting you should run this application to turn on their debug mode by running

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atik Cameras\AtikCamerasDLLDebug\AtikCamerasDLLDebug.exe

And then clicking the 'Allow Debug' button. I suspect that you should leave this program open while you test SharpCap and then turn off the debug mode after you finish testing. Hopefully if you test SharpCap with debug mode active it will create the information that Atik were hoping to find in that folder. We can then pass that information on and hopefully get the problem fixed.

Thanks, Robin

Hi Robin,

Thanks for these information.

I have started the AtikCameraDLLDebug software and do the following sequence:
The camera start in Bin1 and low speed

1- HS=>Bin2=>Gain 5=>Gain 0=>Bin1=> Crash
2- Bin2=>Bin1=>HS=>Bin2=> Crash

I have uploaded the file ATIK.zip (folder Atik in ProgramData). No new file detected in ASCOM.AtikCamera but in AtikCamerasDLL two new files are available in the Debug folder. One for each test. I hope these two files can help :).

That looks very promising – I will pass it on.

Hi,

Just a small update. With the last SharpCap version, the scale for the Gain and the Offset is now correctly displayed.
The Pad data problem is also solved.

Thanks for your help :)

Eric

Hi Eric,

Glad to hear that those issues are fixed.

I've also heard back from Atik with some more information about the crash, although I'm not sure I fully understand it yet. I may put some more debugging information in to see if we can catch it failing and properly understand what is going wrong.

Cheers, Robin

Hi Robin,

If needed, I can do more testing on my side with specific option in SharpCap or in the ATIK software.
For your information, the ATIK SDK was updated this week.
