No image using two different Atik cameras

I have a Windows 10 Pro computer with the latest updates. I am using version 3.2.6317.0 of SharpCap Pro. I am using either an Atik 490ex color camera or an Atik 460ex color camera.
I am not getting an image from either camera. Both cameras work fine using different capture applications (SGP and Infinity).
And quite frequently when I open SharpCap, I get an error message: "An error occurred while starting your Atik 490ex" And that never happens with the other apps.
SharpCap recognizes my webcam and does show a live image from it.
This is a relatively new problem that started happening sometime this year - probably after installing some SharpCap update.
So I uninstalled the latest version and installed 3.2.5994.0 - and it works!
