Hi,
Requirements - Choosing Between ASCOM and DirectShow - Pros of ASCOM
text:
"Bit depths of >8 and RAW modes may be available."
The inequality sign ">" is inappropriate, what about text like the following?
“Bit depth greater
than 8 bits and RAW mode may be available.”
「
8ビット以上のビット深度とRAWモードが利用できる場合があります」

Thanks,
I have corrected this and I also found 2 or 3 other places where < or > were used in the same way and changed those too.

Hi,
At this point, we have only reviewed the contents of the following htm file in detail、he rest of the files will take a very long time, Therefore, you may find something that needs to be fixed?
1_Foreword.htm
2_Introduction.htm
3_Requirements.htm
4_SharpCapPro.htm
5_QuickStart.htm

Installation and First Steps - Installing the Camera Driver
In the following text, the inequality sign ">" is not necessary :
"Once the camera drivers are installed, restart Windows, plug in the camera and check via Control Panel
> Devices to see if the device (camera) is working properly."

Hi,
that pattern is used quite a lot throughout the manual as a short hand for things that must be done in order - for instance
Go to Help Menu > Show Log
is an example. I think I am happy to keep it that way.
cheers,
Robin

Hi,
Installation and First Steps - Installing SharpCap
Need to fix sequence-number:
"12. Connect the camera to the telescope."
The sequence-number is "7.".
The sequence-number after that is the same...
Therefore, the last
"21. If all the above has worked, the SharpCap and camera installation has been successfully tested."
The sequence-number is "16.".
- sequence-number.png (189.03 KiB) Viewed 977 times
and,
Consistency of the string "exposure" with the manual?
Testing SharpCap - This is SharpCap’s Main Screen - Key areas are
Exposure – controls the camera exposure
The "Exposure" string is "Exposure time"(露出時間) in the Controls_en.json file, but shouldn't it be unified with the "Exposure" string?
- Exposure string.png (47.66 KiB) Viewed 970 times
- Testing SharpCap.png (409.96 KiB) Viewed 968 times
In addition, the text under Exposure:
「Check that the image changes in response to changing light levels – for instance shine a light into the telescope or onto the camera sensor and check that the image becomes brighter. Alternatively, cover the telescope/sensor and check that the image becomes darker.」
(光量の変化に応じて画像が変化することを確認してください。
例えば、望遠鏡やカメラのセンサーに光を当てて、画像が明るくなることを確認してください。
例えば、望遠鏡やカメラのセンサーに光を当てて、画像が明るくなるのを確認したり、望遠鏡やセンサーを覆って、画像が暗くなるのを確認したりします。)
When translated, it shows duplicate strings (underlined), so why not the following text.
「Make sure that the image changes in response to changes in light intensity. For example, shine a light on the telescope or the camera's sensor and check that the image becomes brighter, or cover the telescope or sensor and check that the image becomes darker.」
(光の強さの変化に応じて画像が変化することを確認してください。例えば、望遠鏡やカメラのセンサーに光を当てて画像が明るくなることを確認したり、望遠鏡やセンサーを覆って画像が暗くなることを確認したりします。)

Hi,
good spot on the list numbering - I will fix that. There are actually software products that you can buy that have the main purpose of spotting list numbering errors in word documents - largely used by law firms...
I'm happy for you to use non-literal translations of the manual content if you feel that would read better in Japanese. I think the English version of the 'check camera response' text is fine.
On the exposure/exposure time thing - would it be valid to use the Japanese for 'Exposure' rather than 'Exposure Time' in the application?
thanks,
Robin

Hi,
On the exposure/exposure time thing - The control panel asks for a time element, so 'Exposure time' (露出時間)is appropriate.
However, in English, do you keep the word 'exposure' or change it to 'osure time'?

Installation and First Steps - Removing SharpCap - Text of caution
I think it would be better to make "appendix" a hyperlink.
The source code should look like the following:
<a href="37_Appendix.htm#_Toc523950340">Appendix</a>
- appendix.png (18.87 KiB) Viewed 956 times
and,
Installation and First Steps - Testing SharpCap
「・・・・・the folder holding the captured image.」
It is not a folder that was on the desktop from the beginning, so that needs to be explained. (For completely new users)
Example text:
(The first time you install SharpCap, it will automatically create a folder on your desktop named "SharpCap Captures".

Hi,
using the phrase 'exposure time' in English when discussing a camera would be considered an odd use of the language - just using the word 'Exposure' would be considered normal.
Thanks for the suggestion about the creation of the folder - I will add that.

Hi,
In Japanese, when we talk about "exposure" of a camera, we use it to make "exposure time" longer (or shorter) than the vague word "exposure".
So what if you did the following:
In English, use the word "Exposure"「露出」 in the program or manual, and use the word "Exposure Time"「露出時間」 in the same way in Japanese.
