Gracias.

Hi,

In the SharpCap Settings menu, Saving Tab, Guiding Tab, and Logging Tab are tabs that have been added since v4.0, but if you are a beginner using an older version (v3.2) without knowing it, you may be confused.

So, as a suggestion, is it possible to create a new UI that prompts for an update when the program starts, as shown in the following screenshot (example: WinJUPOS)?

Hi,

there is already an update prompt for updating to a newer version. However, I have not yet enabled auto-updates from 3.2 to 4.0 - I have deliberately not done that yet to allow as many bugs to be found and fixed in 4.0 as possible before prompting SharpCap 3.2 users to upgrade.

I expect to actually prompt for that upgrade sometime before the end of this year.

thanks,

Robin

Hi all (especially users in Japanese speaking countries)

The biggest job of the year was to spend about 1000 hours translating the SharpCap (4.0) user manual into Japanese.

Let me introduce it to you.

1) The web version can be viewed at the following URL

https://sharpcap-jp.sakura.ne.jp/SharpC ... /Start.htm

2) The CHM version can be downloaded below.

http://docs.sakuraweb.com/downloads/Sha ... ual_ja.chm

I hope these will be of some help to you in your astronomical photography.

OK
with 8709 loaded on the laptop.
I created a new shortcut for sharpcap
Copied it
opened properties of the shortcut
hand typed in the TARGET path
Sharpcap.exe /instance 2
when I hit APPLY
windows showed in TARGET
"C:\Program Files\SharpCap 4.0 (64 bit)\SharpCap.exe" /instance 2

This shortcut now works
The Hardware settings in Sharpcap are also saving properly.. !!!!!!!!!!!! :)
So, all is working.

I just have to be careful how I create / edit the shortcut.
Sorry about this.
Take care

Hi,

Since the problem here is the confusion of users who are using instances for the first time with command line arguments, why not add a note to this section of SCUM about adding the /instance X parameter from the command line (with double quotes and a space between the '/' to be added)? This will help people who are new to this. This is one of the reasons why new users are confused.
