Update Fails

I'm trying to update from SharpCap 3.1.5193 to the current 3.1.5220. Within SharpCap I selected "Check for Updates" from the Help menu and clicked on "Install Update". The "Downloading SharpCap 3.1.5220" completed and I clicked on "Install and Relaunch". The SharpCap window closed, but nothing else happened. When I manually relaunched SharpCap it still shows the version number to be 3.1.5193.

So, how can I update to the latest version? Is there a downloaded update file somewhere I my computer that I can manually run? Do I need to change permissions under Windows 10 to allow the update to proceed? Do I need to uninstall, download the new version, and then reinstall?

this happens now and then (not very often) and it's usually easiest to do the upgrade manually which can be downloaded from

Watch out for a blinking icon on the task bar which is a window asking for permission to proceed with the install. Still catches me out sometimes.
