Robin,
I have checked and my mount is tracking. When i click on the Tracking button 3 icons come up, a star, moon, and sun. The Star icon is beside the tracking button. When I retry the GoToTarget sequence it proceeds through the Stages until it gets to Move to RA/Dec Position. at which time it puts and "x" on that stage and kicks me out of the Progress section. What can I do now?

Hi,
yes, it's normal for the mount to continue tracking once it has been told to track, even if the software controlling it shuts down.
I am going to make a change for a future update of SharpCap to ensure that the underlying cause of a failure at the 'Goto RA/Dec Position' stage gets shown, rather than the generic error message. Unfortunately with the current version you will need to dig through the log to try to find the underlying cause as we did last time. Unfortunately the 'mount is not tracking' seemed to be a false lead
cheers,
Robin

Robin,
So have we reached a dead end or is there something else we can try?

Hi Darrell,
I think we have reached the point where we are struggling to find things to try - If I remember rightly you are currently using the 'Celestron ASCOM Driver' option and that is having issues with not doing what we are asking it to do. Did you have any more success using the CPWI option (basically that's just shifting from one set of Celestron provided software to another in the hope that the errors might only be in one of them).
cheers,
Robin

Robin,
I have no problem when I use CPWI in finding targets and moving to them. Does this help you?

I just got a messsage that reads: Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'Hand control form'. Does this mean anything to you?

Hi,
not really - I do know that the text 'hand control form' doesn't appear anywhere in SharpCap, so that message must be coming from CPWI or some other part of the Celestron software. The general meaning of the message is that the software (CPWI) is trying to use some part of the code that has already been cleaned up - as if some part of the CPWI software has been closed or disconnected and then some other part is still trying to use it. Unfortunately that probably doesn't help from your point of view.
I think we are now struggling to think of anything else to try - if you go to an Astronomy club or society, it might be worth seeing if someone at your society is an experienced imager who knows how to get ASCOM working - if someone like that could look over your setup they might spot something that is very hard to diagnose remotely - good luck!

I received this message "This is SC 4.1.13925.0 but the assets file is for 4.1.13800.0. Please repair your installation and try again." What do I do now?
