Hi,
there was a bug in 4.0.8646 that caused a crash if you closed the tool area (histogram, live stacking, etc) with the 'X' button then re-opened it. I have put out a fix in 4.0.8655 that resolves this issue (and also fixes the background being light in a few areas of the UI in dark mode).
