Robin:

LOL! Too much useless information eh?

I will take a break and do a sensor analysis on the DS26c when Mallincamsky releases new updates. We are overdue.

A list of important accomplishments, especially for the DS26c:

1) I can make beautiful flats which are then averaged without trouble in SC 4+ and the DS26c
2) Ditto for darks
3) Histogram gives reliable okays for the exposure gain combinations for the flats
4) Sequencing/dithering. Not a problem
5) Plate solving. Gorgeous... after usually 2 plate solves the offset is down to 0.00 degrees
7) Workaround from GBRG>>RGGB>>APP preprocessing yields true colour fidelity

The DS10c is less problematic than the DS26c.

Thank you for your support and determination in making a very good program even much better!

I have to use Pipp and convert GBRG to RGGB and then preprocess in APP.
It is possible to force the Bayer pattern in APP.

The master dark (and flat) looked like this:

I came across this when using a ZWO ASI2600MC with an ASCOM driver on a remote telescope. No BAYERPAT was written to the image header in the captured frames but the above in APP got me to a colour image. https://www.astrobin.com/w4rm8c/

Hi Turfpit:

I had trouble with the older versions of Sharpcap 4.0 and the DS10c and DS26c if I processed as GBRG RAW/FITS Force CFA in APP

With the newest updates of Sharpcap, and the ASCOM Mallincamsky driver posted this morning, I may not need to use Pipp and I may actually be able to carry out a sensor analysis on the Mallincamsky Skyraider DS26c

Hi Robin:

Yesterday Mallincam released its newest ASCOM driver. I ran a sensor analysis initially in 8 bit mode which executed without issue. After realizing my mistake and upon completion of the sensor analysis I ran another sensor analysis in 16 bit mode which is the true depth of the sensor.

It failed!

I sent the log file to Rock Mallin with a request that he fix the problem.

Attached is the log file.

Hi Dan,

in that log I can see the successful analysis running in 8 bit mode, after which it looks like you briefly open the camera in 16 bit mode and then close it again after 1 frame. There is nothing in the log to indicate that anything went wrong while the camera was in 16 bit mode - what happened that made you close it again?

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin:

Sensor analysis got hung up again after making all the green crosses 3/4 down to the origin then it hung up and I cancelled the sensor analysis.

Hi Robin:

I will run it again after restarting the computer.

Failed again
Running in still mode freezes the entire program
Will post log files here later.

Hi Dan,

still frames timing out on the ASCOM side :( - hold on for the next update of SharpCap (which will log more info) and/or the next ASCOM update.

cheers,

Robin
