One question. Does the camera settings have an influence on the SC results?

I have done the tests with:
Brightness: 10
White balance (R): auto 50
White balance (B): auto 50

In the past I used also:
White Bal (B)=90
White Bal (R)=52

Thanks

Hi,

essentially, what will happen is that if you have used the colour adjustments on the camera, the calibration will produce different numbers for the R/G/B colour balance numbers, but the end result image (after calibration) should be very similar regardless of whether your camera colour balance is at 50/50 or 90/52.

The brightness may be more subtle - if the brightness is enough to properly separate the raw image histogram from the zero point then you should be fine. If the brightness is too low and the histogram clips, then that *might* affect the calculation that the colour calibration does when working out how much background to subtract. I'm suspicious that this might be causing the problems with background colour cast that we are seeing here and there, although I haven't managed to confirm this idea yet.

cheers,

Robin
