Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Thank you.
I am still perplexed why any default profile is rejected as bad when starting a camera but good after the camera is up and running

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Hi,
I still don't have an answer for that - do you want to send me the default profile file and I will experiment to see if I can get the same effect?
cheers,
Robin

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Yes, here are three of my current profiles and will make more when I figure out the this default problem. To be clear any of these profiles will cause a yellow banner error and the profile will not load, the camera will go default, and profile box will be empty.
I can then manually choose that same exact profile and it will load and work perfectly. If I close the camera or restart SC then the same problem will resurface.

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Hi,
thanks for sharing the profiles
I tried setting all of those profiles as 'default' on my ASI071MC (nearest model I have to your 533MC), and while I did get an error, it was related to the target resolution of 3008x3008 which isn't on the default list for the ASI071MC - that shouldn't happen on the 533, since 3008x3008 is the default resolution. So, that doesn't help track down why you are getting the error directly...
However, I can share with you the sort of entries in the SharpCap log that you should see when a profile fails to load properly
You can see that the 'Warning' line records the actual property that failed to apply correctly and is the trigger of the notification showing. Hopefully you will be able to find the corresponding Warning(s) in your log and post them here for me to look at.
thanks,
Robin

Okay here you go the error is setting the manual filter wheel to "RGB Ultra" even though if I select and load that same exact profile it has no problem pushing the manual filter wheel to "RGB Ultra" and profile loads without a problem. See the attached log with the defualt error and the drop down selection of the profile no error...
I can tell you what the problem is:
Your code above assumes "Documents" is on the "C:\Users\" drive when in fact I have a M2 "C:\" drive for programs and SSD "D:\Users\" drive where all my user data folders are located...
FYI - My AppData folder is still on "C:\Users\Randall\AppData"
In fact ASCOM assumed the same thing and ASCOM created it's very own "C:\Users\Randall\Documents\" folder. I was to successfully transfer that to the D:\ drive however and change the ini file
So let's assume this is my fault as I added the D:\ drive after installing SharpCap, can I find an INI or registry entry or an uninstall/reinstall... that I can change to get back on track

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Hi,
thanks for the further info - I have now replicated and worked out a fix for the problem.
It all came down to the order in which things happen when the camera is opened and the 'connect hardware automatically when opening a camera' option is enabled. While hardware like the mount, focuser and filter wheel is connected before the default profile is loaded, at that point the message that says 'hey, the filter wheel just connected' hasn't been processed yet, so the list of filters hadn't been loaded. So, when the profile load tries to set the filter name to 'Ultra RGB' (or whatever), that filter name isn't in the list of available filters and an error is generated.
If you load the profile after the camera is opened then the filter list has had a chance to load and everything works as it should.
Anyway, I now have a fix that will resolve this problem in the next update - thanks for helping me get to the bottom of this issue
cheers,
Robin

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. However, last night I relocated "Desktop", which contains my "SharpCap" data folder, to the "C" drive. All my problems profile problems were resolved however I did get several crashes which I sent to you - I have attached the logs. Got wind gusts in the 20 MPH range so no EAA at all.
BTW, I am going to start another topic on "Desktop location" in regards to speed...

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
Hi,
please update to 4.1.13043 - the version you have (4.1.13041) had an issue with focuser scans causing a crash when trying to draw the 'best fit' curve after the scan had completed. I think I spotted and fixed the issue within 24 hours, but sadly you downloaded the version with the problem during the short time when it was the 'latest' version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Defaults Profiles Etc.
All issues in my original post have been addressed/fixed.
Thank you for your time and consideration in these matters.
By the way I forgot to mention I absolutely find it fantastic that you have allowed defaults per camera. This has made profiles a must for me to be efficient and not forget settings and filter selections per camera. Love it - thank you!
