Talking of close RoI, capturing lunar occultations at around 1000 fps shows up the Fresnel diffraction nicely. I've uncovered some double stars this way. This is with an ASI174 with NTP time stamping, my tests have shown that it is still possible to get good frame rates with a much wider ROI with the QHY to keep that digital band out of the way. I can also sync the PC with the QHY now whilst capturing with the ASI, indeed, the absolute time base is less important to the relative.

Hi Jonathan,
The small spike in intensity just before the brightness drops is an interference effect from the edge of the moon? - neat, and not something I have seen before.
Glad to hear that the latest update is working well for you.
cheers,
Robin

Tangra uses the embedded timestamps in the ser file. I can demonstrate this, here is a snapshot of tangra working just fine with the video having been cropped to just the central portion. PIPP is a fantastic tool for doing this and maintains the integrity of the all important time stamps.
Off subject:
It demands half decent seeing, but in good conditions, the results match the predicted model very well!
