Hello Stefan,

That is correct ... in the past months, it was several changes.
One was the OxyPlot tool, one other was some new script functions for the Deep Sky Annotation tool.

I have several "new" version of my Occultation/Cal LED scripts ... but it was in a different topic: viewtopic.php?p=42030#p42030
This topic has several messages during the debugging (... you do not need to read completely).

You can try the following scripts from the ZIP file. It is the "menu" and the "script" versions of the Cal_LED, Occultation and UCAC4_annotation. Start one script after the other from the script console after changing some parameters in the script.
Then change the same parameters in the "menu" version.

The last new function is the UCAC4 stars. You need for that the original UCAC4 catalogue.

On idea in addition: Is it possible to modify the OccultWatcher plugin, so that it fills the text file already with the necessary data for SODIS, i.e. take the observer name, location etc. from OccultWatcher?

Have a look at the script parameter: Fill_OW_tags
One point ... if the tags at the beginning of the report are changed, then you can not used the same report for the event communication from OccultWatcher.
If you do not more used the communication from OccultWatcher, but only the report with SODIS, then you can changed the parameter : Fill_OW_tags = True
The tag "#Occultation: xxxxTIVE" can not be changed automatically by my script. (not yet ... it is possible that the SharpCap script generate a simple light curve during the event).

It was still something that I did not correct ... the automatic fill-in of the exposure time could be wrong or the SODIS webpage does not understand the number. So please have a look at it.

One point more ... I tried to modify my scripts for the use with different versions of SharpCap.
It works not satisfying. So these new script will no more works with too old version of SharpCap.

And ... please test my script with dummy event or the best is to test first with the ASCOM Sky Simulator.

Yes, I know
I wanted to upload the occultation script(s) end of December (last year).
But ... I did not do it ... and then I had some new ideas and I tried some code.
It was not stable ... and so still no update.

OK, I will update my last stable version of the occultation script on the forum.

Are you already using one of my scripts for the occultation observation ?
Do you have some comments or questions ?
I ask for some feedback while I have received very few comments about my scripts.

Now do you ask for the UCAC4 script ? or for the Occultation script ?

I've a couple of question at this moment (I'm trying to use this script):

- The most important is this: I've created the SODIS Template but some tags will not be added automatically when I export the event; the tags are the ones that should be exported by occult watcher (I have the last Occult Watcher version)
#DATE: %EVENT-DATE%
#STAR: %STAR%
#ASTEROID: %ASTEROID%
#Nr: %ASTEROID-NO%

- The Led calibration will crash every time I try to use it with the error: "The error was : 'PlotModel' object has no attribute 'LegendTitle'." How could I solve it?

Concerning the tags in Occult Watcher:
How do you report your observation ? First in Occult Watcher and then in SODIS ? or only in SODIS ?
The 4 tags you mention are normally exported by Occult Watcher when you report from Occult Watcher.
My script can export the 4 tags at the end of the capture of the film ... but, you can not re-use the same file for the export from Occult Watcher.

In one of my last version of the Occultation script, it is possible to select how the 4 tags are reported.
So if the report are done in Occult Watcher and SODIS, or only in SODIS.


Concerning the LED calibration:
The error of the "LegendTitle" is coming from the function modification between 2 versions of Oxyplot library.
SharpCap updated the Oxyplot library ... and so old scripts are no more working with a new version of SharpCap !

How you can solve it ?
Simply ... use the last script version (that I need to be sure you will receive) and use the last version of SharpCap (at least not older than 2 months).

I have now upload the last running version of my scripts for the observation of the occultation.

For the Occult Watcher tags ... how is your reporting process ?
In Occult Watcher and SODIS or now only SODIS ?

For the use of my scripts ... if you have an older version installed ... the best is to move all the other scripts and files somewhere,
and then to use all new files from the ZIP. Please take time to read the PDF files. A lot of important information are in the files.
If you have set the "menu" version of my scripts, then you need to change the files in the SharpCap settings.

Before using my script on a real event ... my advise is to practice with the Sky Simulator.
Or you modify an event file with a different date and you practice the observation with your hardware.


I have one or other new idea for my occultation script.
If you have some comments or other wishes ... write here, but I cannot change the weather

The card "List" is still not activated. You can import several events and see some information.
But that is only what you can do now. The idea was a full automatic observation of several events during the night.
It is a little bit more complicated as initially expected. I have in the meantime some intermediate results, but not a complete solution.

For the SkyWatcher mounts, you have 2 other alternative ... EQMOD and SynScanPro.
All 3 are working properly. I prefer the SynScan software, while you can do the polar alignment or slew to different targets.

But for some programming, I need to test with all 3 software.
So, the GSS version 1.0.8.6 is working fine on my computer with the last SharpCap.

If you have not done ... reinstall all 3 software ... ASCOM (ideally the last 7.0.2), GSS and SharpCap.
If you have still problems ... buy a new computer ... or try SynScanPro.
If the telescope is no more connecting ... hmm ... do you check all the parameters ? COM port number, baud, ... ?

In GSS ... you can change to the simulator in the "Mount Type" ... and so you can check if it is a problem in the telescope or the physical connection to the telescope.
