Hi,
have you set up SharpCap to show temperatures in Farenheit? That can cause this sort of thing because the actual temperatures that you can set on the camera are only in whole degrees celcius. The °F value that you enter has to get converted to the nearest °C value for sending to the camera, and that °C value then gets converted back to °F and shown on screen. There are some °F values where the round trip to a whole °C and back doesn't end up back at the same °F.

You are magician - correct, I had it set to Fahrenheit and as soon as I unchecked it, I was able to insert -10.

Hi,
just remember that -10 set in C is not the same as -10 set in F. It's also worth noting that for modern cameras like those with the IMX533 sensor, deep cooling is not really necessary (they have much less thermal noise anyway than older CCD cameras). Somewhere in the -5 to +5 (Celcius) range is probably sufficient - going colder increases problems with dew on the sensor, cooldown times, etc.

I use the 533 myself and tried several different temps. I settled on 0c or 33f. As Robin said running the temperature really low doesn’t really change anything and really makes the cooler run harder drawing a lot of power. Especially here in the desert.
