SharpCap 3.2 Beta now available
Re: SharpCap 3.2 Beta now available
Hi Robin.
It's a while that 3.2 crashes at the end of flat frame. Exctly when it says "averaging flat frame……". And it creates folder named "flats" but inside there is nothing, any file inside.
Thanks
Andrea

Re: SharpCap 3.2 Beta now available
Hi,
I think I have seen this bug reported already and I wrote a fix for it last week which should be in a new update next week. The problem I saw happened if you were using a camera in RGB mode and had selected both a mono flat and to subtract bias frames.
thanks,
Robin

Ah, okay yes that worked!
I was selecting the other button "All .fit files". When I select that button, new .fit files in the folder don't get added to the livestack (though they do show up in the camera controls list on the camera control panel).
**break break**
I re-installed the beta. Works fine now. Weird.

Yes, that's it. I usually make my flats using mono flat and bias subtract...I'm waiting for your next fix. Because i think making flats with bias subtract is more useful than without bias subtract (as i had to do with SC 3.1).admin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 9:14 am Hi,

Did command line camera selection make it into 3.2 ?
Is there a historical change log that I could have searched before asking ?
Steve.

Hi Steve,
yes it did!
You need the quotes around the name of the camera if it contains spaces.
There is no general access changelog, sorry.
cheers,
Robin

Hi,
SharpCap 3.2 is now fully released and no longer in beta – you can find the downloads on the normal SharpCap download page.
Cheers, Robin

D'oh! I see it now.. thanks for the clarification Robin
Another question, I was trying to make ASCOM DSLR driver work (I have a Nikon d5300).. Does SharpCap3.2 have now the support for the driver that the Beta had? (I am just starting to experiment with the driver).. On a related question, do you know of any user that has been successful in making it work with a Nikon?
Thanks!

Re: SharpCap 3.2 Beta now available
Hi,
The fully released version of SharpCap 3.2 should work with the Ascom driver at least as well as the beta did. However I have not had any time recently to put any effort into improving the Ascom driver's reliability further. I've not heard of anybody using that successfully with a Nikon camera unfortunately – I find it hard enough to get it working the first time with a Canon camera to be honest! It does show a lot of promise but it can be some time before that driver is a robust way of accessing DSLR cameras.
Cheers, Robin
