Hi I know the recommended setting for my mount is to do a RCal instead of a Sync when I do a plate solve and sync. But I really want to do a Sync but it wont let me! For some reason with my AP900 GTO CP2 (older mount) RCal doesn't last past power down. So after a polar alignment adjustment I'd like to do a plate solve and sync (not Rcal) once, then I would set things back to treaty Sync as RCal in the hardware tab.
Thanks!
Can't turn off Sync as Rcal for my AP900

Re: Can't turn off Sync as Rcal for my AP900
Hi,
I think that if there is a solution to this it will be in the settings for your AP900 software or AP900 ASCOM driver. From SharpCap's side of things there is only the 'Sync' command, which should match the mount's co-ordinates to the values that SharpCap sends so that GOTO movements nearby to those co-ordinates will be more accurate. However, lots of mount manufacturers twist the meaning of this command to use it for other purposes such as adding a point to a pointing model or 'RCAL', but all of that is controlled by the ASCOM driver/mount software, not SharpCap.
cheers,
Robin

Actually in this case it is Sharpcap. My AP900 GTO CP2 supports both the "Sync" and "RCal" command. It is the Sharpcap extended settings that have a box to uncheck for (RCal instead of Sync). If I uncheck that box the Sharpcap software puts up a popup warning that won't go away.
