Hello all,
Been a Sharpcap Pro user for a few years now and I think i've made a huge mistake! My laptop died and i purchased a new Surface pro with arm processor.
Sharpcap loads fine, no issues there. But now my Svbony sv405cc and my Zwo asi462mc are not detected by sharpcap. I'm assuming this is due to both cams lacking ARM drivers?
Just wondering if there are any work arounds or if any one knows if there is anything on the horizon before I start looking at alternate solutions/hardware?

Hi Greg,
yes, I think you are right that the lack of ARM drivers will stop you - even though the normal 64-bit version of SharpCap will run on Arm (probably a bit slowly though).
I did look at producing an ARM version of SharpCap a year or two back, but the problem is that most manufacturers don't produce either drivers or an ARM Windows version of their SDK, so I gave up on that idea because basically all I could support would be ToupTek cameras...
I'm not aware of any SVBony ARM drivers (but it would be worth asking them). ZWO did produce a beta version ARM driver at one point - there were download links on their forums I think. The problem was that the ARM driver wasn't properly signed, so Windows would only load it if you had done a special reboot to disable checking for signed drivers *every time* before using the driver.
Basically, people choose not to buy ARM Windows PCs for astro because of the lack of manufacturer support, and the manufacturers don't bother adding support because no-one is using those PC's for Astro, chicken and egg...

Thanks for your message. We don’t have an official ARM driver for the camera yet. The driver is still under Microsoft’s certification review, so it will take some time before the official signed version is released.
We understand this is inconvenient for your Surface with Snapdragon/ARM processor. As soon as the certified ARM64 driver is available, we will announce it on our official channels immediately.
