Plate solving results
I am trying to figure out how to configure my rotator so I can set the sky PA without a ton of trial shots. Right now, I have my scope pointed north, below Polaris. When I plate solve it with SharpCap's built-in solver, it says that "up is 340.8 deg". Does that mean that is the sky PA?

Re: Plate solving results
Hi,
yes, I think that is essentially the position angle - SharpCap measures the orientation in 'up is <X> degrees east of north', which is the same as the definition of the position angle as far as I can tell. In both, the rotation is anticlockwise since east is to the left of north as you look *up* at the sky - the opposite of what you see when looking down on the map.
cheers,
Robin
