Crash when adjusting the selection area size

#1

Post by PeterC65 »

When I'm using the Contrast (Edge) Detection method for focusing on a Planet and I try to adjust the size (but not the position) of the selection area rectangle, SharpCap often crashes (40% of the time). I start to move a corner, it moves a little then the UI freezes, I get a message saying that the camera view is no longer live, then the program crashes with no opportunity to create a crash report.

This has been happening for some time with different (beta) versions of SharpCap. I don't do planetary EAA very often and so mostly use Multi-Star FWHM Measurement for focusing which doesn't need the selection area so I don't experience the crashes.

I have added /dump to my standard SharpCap desktop icon and will attempt to get a dump file that way next time I'm doing a session.

Hi Peter,

thanks for reporting - after a bit of playing around I was able to get a similar crash to happen (looks like it might be related to the choice in the 'Image Processing' section of the focus tool for binning). I will investigate and see if I can track it down further and fix it.

cheers,

Robin
