LIVE STACK SAVE AND CLOSE

#1

Post by carlomuccini »

Hi

In a sequence I save with the command:

LIVE STACKING SAVE FITSRawStack16Bit
LIVE STACK SAVE AND CLOSE

all is ok

But, if I would also like to save in PNG format...
how can i give the command right after: LIVE STACKING SAVE PNGAsShownOnScreen ?

e.g.:
LIVE STACKING SAVE FITSRawStack16Bit
LIVE STACKING SAVE PNGAsShownOnScreen
LIVE STACK SAVE AND CLOSE

thank you

Carlo

Hi,

I am guessing that with the second option you will get a warning about not overwriting files when the 'save and close' runs. That will be because the previous 'LIVE STACKING Save PNGAsShownOnScreen' will have created a save file on disk, and the save and close will generate the exact same filename again (no new frames added to the stack, so the filename doesn't change). Since the same filename is calculated, SharpCap will spot that the PNG file already exists and refuse to overwrite it with a warning.

One approach would just be to ignore this warning about not overwriting the file - it's not causing any problems. Another approach would be to use the 'LIVE STACKING STOP' step instead of save and close. This step just does the 'Close' part, so you would need to take care of all the saving in the sequence with 'LIVE STACKING SAVE' steps for each format that you want.

cheers,

Robin
