Hi,
Due to personal issues been away from astrophotography for a while and looking to get going again so have updated the software etc and looking at buying a ZWO CAA Rotator. I was recently at a friend's who already has one and runs via his ASIAIR. With his setup he can drop in an existing shot he has taken, and the software will plate solve the image and perform a goto were upon it will image the target and compare the reference image and then issue a command to the rotator to match the rotation of this reference shot is this possible within SharpCap.
Cheers
Nick

Re: Plate solve Existing Image and Rotator
Hi Nick,
should be - there is a 'Goto Image' tool which will do both the mount movement and the rotator adjustment. I don't think it gets much use, so if you do encounter any problems let me know and I will investigate - I always worry that the direction of rotation might be configured wrongly on the rotator which could lead to the adjustment being the wrong way.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Plate solve Existing Image and Rotator
Hi Robin,
Thanks for the info will start saving for the rotator then will give it a go. The plan was that we could both image the same object so either one sends the other an image of the target and then both scopes hopefully align the same so we can share data.
Also as my scope is 8ft up when the pier extends it's bloody awkward manually trying to set the rotation of the camera so even without the goto part just the ability to rotate will be a major safety improvement as balancing on the steps in the dark is always dodgy.
Cheers
